The N.Y.A. (Not Your Average) Youth Basketball League is the first competitive league in deep East Texas that focuses on all aspects of player development. The N.Y.A. Youth Basketball League is designed to teach players the game while improving their game IQ, challenge players to master fundamentals, and give players the opportunity to showcase their skills in a competitive environment. Our goal is for every player to improve their game by practical skill development and game repetition. Our standard for integrity, respect, team work, work ethic, good sportsmanship and discipline are nonnegotiable.

League Evaluation/Roster Selection:

April 1st

All players will participate in an evaluation (lead by FQP staff)

After the evaluation, FQP staff will draft teams based on each player’s evaluation

Coaches will select the team they coach by drawing a number
-
Parents will be notified by April 3rd about their son/daughter’s coach, team, practice schedule and game schedule

The league is held at Gains and Glory - 2109 W Frank Ave, Lufkin Tx 75904

We will use the back entrance of the gym for access to practice and games

Entry Fee is optional donation

No outside food or drinks. There will be concession available
League Practice:
-
Each team will have one practice per week
-
Practices will be on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday*

Practice will consist of skills session (lead by FQP player development coach) and practice with their league coach

Each practice is 1.5 hours *(ideally 40 minutes skill development and 50 minutes practice)

Practices are pre-scheduled by the FQP league director. Coaches can schedule additional practices or reschedule practice at their discretion but all skills sessions will remain as scheduled.
League Practice Schedule:
The schedule below is a general idea of the practice schedule. However, the schedule is subject to change if necessary. After the evaluation day (April 1st), you will be notified with the exact day and time of your teams' practice.
