Who Is FQP?
Our Story
Before FIFTH Quarter Performance was a building, it was a vision God planted in a Lufkin teenager.
Coach Ivorie Ford grew up here, a standout basketball player for the Lufkin Panthers with a dream of playing at the next level. An injury redirected her playing career early in high school. But in that redirecting, she began to discern that God had a different path for her, one still rooted in the game she loved. She'd first imagined a "sports performance ministry" as a junior in high school, long before she had the words for what it would become.
Over the years, through more than a decade of coaching and a calling to youth ministry, God unfolded that vision piece by piece.
What she kept coming back to was a simple conviction: every young athlete in Lufkin deserves access to the kind of professional-level training, individual development, and character-based coaching she wished she'd had growing up. Not somewhere far away. Right here at home.
That's why FIFTH Quarter Performance exists and why it will always be more than a gym. For Coach Ivorie, this is ministry. Building it on Christian values isn't a feature; it's the foundation, because she understands the role faith plays in an athlete's development, health, and their life. It's woven into the name itself: FIFTH — Fit In Faith Through Hope.
Today, that vision lives in a 12,000-square-foot facility where youth athletes, competitive players, and everyday members all train, grow, and recover under one roof. For the athletes and families who call this place their fitness home, it's also a reminder of where the strength comes from: faith, hope, and a community that believes in who you're becoming.
Our Mission
At FIFTH Quarter Performance, our mission is to help every person in Lufkin and Deep East Texas train, recover, and grow stronger. Whether they're chasing a personal best or a championship. We bring professional-level coaching and resources into a faith-driven, family-centered environment, built for long-term development in youth and adults alike.
We believe you shouldn't have to be a pro, or leave your hometown to train like one. The kind of structured strength and conditioning, recovery, and nutrition guidance usually reserved for elite athletes should be within reach of a middle-schooler learning the game, a varsity athlete pursuing a scholarship, and a parent getting back in shape. Making that access real is our job. But we measure success by more than performance, we're here to develop the whole person: body, mind, and spirit.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who is FQP for?
Both fitness members and competitive athletes , that's what makes us different. Whether you're working out for your own health and wellness or training to compete at the next level, you'll find your home here. One gym, two paths: Train for Life or Train Like an Athlete, all under one roof.
What are your hours, and how do I get in?
We're open Monday–Saturday, 4:00am–midnight, and Sunday, 4:00am–5:00pm, not quite 24/7, but close. We're not a staffed-desk gym around the clock, so members and pass holders get keyless entry through the Kisi app and can come and go on their own schedule. You can set up a membership or day pass online anytime.
What's included with a membership?
Full access to our 12,000-square-foot fitness floor and equipment, open gym hours, and included at no extra cost, our Recovery Room. That means compression therapy, our three infrared saunas, vibration loungers, all part of your membership rather than an add-on.
Do you offer day passes or discounts?
Yes to both. If you're not ready to commit, you can buy a day pass online anytime and get instant access. We also offer a discount for students and military members, that one isn't available online, so just give us a call at 936-701-1495 and we'll get you set up.
Can I visit before I join?
Absolutely. We'd love to show you around. You can book a tour with one of our coaches and see the facility, the Recovery Room, and everything FQP offers before you decide. If you have questions in the meantime, call us at 936-701-1495 — we're happy to help.
