FQP SELECT BASKETBALL

FQP Select is looking for athletes and families who want more than simply being part of a team.

We want athletes who are ready to learn, work, compete, be coached, support their teammates, and grow.

Talent matters, but so do character, effort, coachability, discipline, attitude, and commitment to development.

Your Chance To Join FQP Select

FQP Select Basketball will hold tryouts on October 11th and October 18th at FIFTH Quarter Performance. Team practices will begin in November 2026, with the competitive season starting March 2027. FQP Select Basketball teams will participate in a carefully selected schedule of semi-local tournaments.

  • 14u Girl Team Tryout | 2:30pm - 4:00pm | October 11th
  • 14u Boy Team Tryout | 4:30pm - 6:00pm | October 11th
  • 16u Boy Team Tryout | 2:30pm - 4:00pm | October 18th

Our goal is not to compete every available weekend. Competition is one part of our development model, and tournament schedules will be selected based on what we believe provides an appropriate competitive experience for each team.

Additional information regarding season costs, expectations, travel, and other program details can be found under Fees & FAQs.

Tryout Information

Age Divisions

Athletes must compete with their appropriate age group and a copy of the birth certificate must be turned in during tryouts to keep on file (i.e. 14u is any athlete 14 and under).

FQP Select coaches will evaluate each athlete during the tryout process. If our coaching staff believes an athlete's development would be better served in another age division, that opportunity will be discussed with the athlete and parent following tryouts.

What to except at tryouts

  • A parent interest meeting will be held at 2:00pm for all teams.
  • Athletes should arrive approximately 15 minutes before their scheduled tryout time to complete check-in and prepare for evaluations.
  • Each athlete will receive a tryout number for identification throughout the tryout.
  • Tryouts will include a combination of individual skill evaluation and live-play evaluation. Our coaching staff will assess areas such as fundamental skills, movement, communication, competitiveness, coachability, decision-making, effort, and overall potential for development within the FQP Select model.

What to except after tryouts

  • Following the completion of tryouts, families will receive communication by email regarding their athlete's tryout status. Please make sure the email address provided during registration is accurate and monitored following tryouts.
  • Athletes selected for an FQP Select roster will receive an official invitation with instructions for accepting their position.
  • Once an athlete accepts her roster position, a $375 Commitment Fee must be received by October 30, 2026 to secure their place on the team.
  • Roster positions that are not secured by the deadline may be offered to another athlete.
  • Once the acceptance deadline has passed, the Commitment Fee becomes non-refundable should an athlete or family later choose not to participate.
